INTRO TO KICK DEFENSES:

FIRST DEFENSE IS TO STEP BACK TO EVADE ALL KICKS ESPECIALLY WHEN OPPONENT NEEDS TO ADVANCE INTO KICKING RANGE. Similar to how we match footwork in the triple jab defense drill, Balintawak, Largo Mano, and CBT

  • LOW ROUND KICK (Leg Cover)
  • MID LEVEL ROUND (Tight Cover and Lateral Step OR Elbow Destruction)
  • HIGH ROUND KICK (Tight Cover and Lateral Step OR Elbow Destruction)
  • MID LEVEL FRONT AND SIDE KICKS (Low Cross Pat and Lateral Step OR Karate Low Block)
  • MID LEVEL SIDE KICK (Hammer Down or Elbow Spike)

INTERCEPTING:

  1. Use Oblique Kick for any Low Round Kicks Straight Kicks
  2. Use Jamming Pendulum Side Kick for any Straight Kicks
